Love and Charity…GIVE

I am always left in awe of the sense of charity most people have within them and the various ways, both big and small, that it can manifest itself.  This morning my mom told me the sweetest story of how she was so moved by an encounter with a homeless woman that it propelled her to purchase a simple sandwich and chips for her. She told me that it was a very touching experience because she knew that even if she had spent her last dime on this stranger it would have been money well spent to make sure she was fed and felt cared for. While the New Year brings so much promise and hope I could not help but think again about the victims of Hurricane Sandy and how there are still so many people in need today. I can’t tell you how thrilled I was to read an article in the New York Times Style section a few days ago called Fashion Still Lends a Hand about how the Council of Fashion Designers of America and Vogue have raised $1.7 million for hurricaine relief organizations through an online auction. Can you believe a date with Anna Wintour sold for $28,500? Please take a few minutes to read the article about all of the wonderful things people in fashion can do! Then take a moment to do something wonderful yourself.

Love is the answer, and you know that for sure; Love is a flower, you’ve got to let it grow.
