Nikki Rich Loves “Punk: Chaos to Couture” at the Met (A Collection by Charlotte Olympia and Tom Binns)

While Richie and I work especially hard to make sure our collections are accessible, and we always try to make our pieces special, there is nothing that should ever stop you from putting your final stamp of style on what you choose to wear. If you know me, you know that I just love fashion, especially when something “simple” can be turned around in an instant, usually with the addition of an unexpected element of surprise in design. You really just need to know who you are and how to find what speaks to you.

Today I came across a piece in WWD describing how London-based shoe designer Charlotte Olympia Dellal and jewelry designer Tom Binns have come together to launch a limited-edition capsule collection to coincide with the opening of “Punk: Chaos to Couture” at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in Manhattan (note to self: go to this exhibit!).  The collection featured in the installment includes high, high, high heels and a clutch bag adorned with safety pins, and velvet loafers with neon embroidered cat faces on them. And I love them all because they truly encompass all things “unexpected.”

What “unexpected” things do you like to add to your look? I really hope you will please take a minute to tell me all about it. We can share ideas on the Nikki Rich Facebook wall today.

In the meantime, starting on May 2, the collection of shoes and bags will be sold exclusively at as well as the Charlotte Olympia Mayfair and Manhattan stores.
